Pencil Balancing with Event Cameras

Recently, the neuromorphic sensing team achieved a major milestone in its work on neuromorphic control: balancing a pencil using event cameras for state estimation. This project furthers the ‘sensing’ component of neuromorphic control. Event cameras process the world similarly to human eyes, percieving only changes in the environment. Going forward, the team will be focusing on pairing event camera sensing with a spiky neural network (SNN).
